Hartford, Conn., Oct 16th, 2019 – Digital Health CT, powered by Startupbootcamp, is excited to announce its inaugural cohort in Hartford, Connecticut. The ten chosen startups exhibit a diverse range of healthcare technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), process automation, personalized medicine, virtual health, and more.
The ten teams invited to take part in the Fall 2019 program, selected from hundreds of startups, will relocate to Hartford in November for the three-month accelerator program. Joining the program will provide these trailblazing startups with the support, resources, and industry and investor connections they need to help grow their businesses. Along with support from Startupbootcamp, the teams will gain access to an extensive range of partners, mentors, and investors from across the accelerator’s global network.
For the inaugural year of the Digital Health CT acceleration program, the startups will work closely with Digital Health CT’s partners: Hartford HealthCare, Trinity College, and the UCONN School of Business. The ten startups are:
CompanionMx: Uses AI algorithms to quantify clinically validated mental health symptoms.
Ellipsis: Uses AI to improve behavioral health through the analysis of natural conversation.
Clearstep: Matches symptom descriptions to the right points of care using the most accurate content available, provides recommendations that encompass price, network status, outcome ratings, and wait times, and makes it easy for patients to choose and schedule needed care.
Encapsulate: Provides automated microfluidic systems for determining the most effective anti-cancer treatments based on a patient’s specific genome and type of cancer.
MDI Health: Provides quick and intuitive access to up-to-date information regarding each patient and suggests a personalized medication treatment, while taking into consideration how a medication “cocktail” is going to affect a specific patient.
QR Fertile: Offers a mobile-enabled, at-home diagnostic platform as a reproductive health and wellness solution for high-risk and subfertile men in their reproductive age.
BrainCheck: Provides clinicians (neurologists and primary care doctors) with the ability to quickly, easily, and comprehensively assess patients’ brain function and behavioral health comorbidities (e.g. depression, anxiety, addiction), and clinical decision support.
Lineus Medical: Produces medical devices designed to eliminate harm associated with IV lines.
DeepScribe: Uses AI + Natural Language Processing to make copious time spP. Passively listens to the natural patient conversation and complete the documentation from the physician.
Aiva: Uses voice assistance to increase efficiencies and improve satisfaction for patients and caregivers alike.
“We are proud and grateful to have received so many high potential applications, which made it very hard to choose the exact right teams! Ultimately, we look for scientific and clinical-depth of the solutions and then seek the perfect fit to form partnerships with our corporate partners for accelerated go-to-market. The Digital Health domain is exploding with opportunity right now and I feel confident that we are positioned to support serious entrepreneurs in hitting the market fast and hard. 2019 will be an amazing year.” says Gerry Roston, PhD, Managing Director of Digital Health CT.
“We are excited to be starting a robust Digital Health program in Hartford after the success that the Hartford InsurTech Hub has had over the last two year. Our last two cohorts have created an energy and community around innovative new ideas and technology, and we cannot wait to extend this community to Digital Health CT. Expanding to Digital Health, we’re continuing the momentum, connecting communities and welcoming another 10 companies to the 20 Insurtech graduates who have raised over collectively $34 million to date,” expresses Dawn LeBlanc, Managing Director of Hartford InsurTech Hub.
Digital Health CT officially kicks off on 11Nov 2019 and will conclude with Demo Day in early February to an audience of investors, business stakeholders, and members of the community. After graduating, startups will continue to be supported by the Startupbootcamp Alumni growth program, which is 800+ startups strong.
