Edward Gifford, MD
Clinical Assistant Professor of Vascular Surgery at Hartford Healthcare Heart and Vascular Institute
Dr. Gifford came to the Hartford area after completing his Vascular and Endovascular Surgery fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He has a passion for the innovation that has electrified the field of Vascular Surgery over the last 15 years. Throughout his medical training he has been involved in a number of clinical as well as laboratory research projects ranging from carotid artery disease to health care systems optimization and patient safety. He has innovation roots as a Clinical Research Associate for Ardian prior to his medical training, and actively participated in the pre-clinical development of the Symplicity renal denervation system for the treatment of Hypertension.
His current research interests include novel endovascular therapy for peripheral arterial and venous disease, as well as quality improvement for patients undergoing Vascular surgery.
